Senior Growing Assistant

Overview

Temp All Staffing is seeking a Senior Growing Assistant to help oversee high-quality soft fruit production for a reputable local employer. In this position, you will support the Growing Manager in producing top-tier fruit for major supermarkets. You will be a key part of the technical team, ensuring crops are healthy, irrigation is precise, and the growing environment is perfectly maintained.

Job Role

• Crop Care: Manage irrigation and feeding systems to ensure maximum fruit quality and yield.
• Climate Management: Monitor and adjust glasshouse and tunnel environments (heating, venting, and maintenance).
• Technical Support: Assist with trialling new fruit varieties and keeping accurate records of fertiliser and water usage.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and train junior staff, ensuring everyone works safely and efficiently.
• Operational Standards: Ensure all work meets strict health, safety, and supermarket quality standards.

Your Experience/ Requirements

• Experience: A solid background in soft fruit growing (ideally in glasshouses or tunnels).
• Technical Skills: Comfortable using irrigation software and climate control systems.
• Reliability: Someone who takes pride in their work and is happy to provide weekend or holiday cover when needed.
• Communication: A team player who can lead by example and share their knowledge with others.
