Temp All Staffing Ltd are recruiting for a sales estimator on behalf of a reputable client. Our client is a leading UK supplier of engineering solutions, providing innovative products, expert technical support, and outstanding customer service nationwide. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their Technical Sales team in Braintree. This role is perfect for someone with an engineering or technical sales background who enjoys problem-solving and customer interaction. Full product training is provided.

The Role

As a Sales Estimator, you will deliver accurate technical quotations and engineering solutions. You will work closely with the Technical Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, and internal teams to help customers identify the best products. This role combines technical engineering calculations with customer-facing communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations: Create detailed cost estimates for mechanical drive systems.
• Run calculations: Produce machine calculations using internal software and data.
• Review specs: Analyse customer specifications to recommend technical solutions.
• Provide support: Deliver technical assistance to clients during quoting.
• Liaise internally: Coordinate with suppliers and departments for competitive pricing.
• Follow up: Maintain customer relationships and track pending quotes.
• Manage enquiries: Answer technical and commercial questions via phone/email.
• Attend meetings: Join managers in client, consultant, and local authority meetings.
• Assist teams: Support the wider sales department with product knowledge.
• Keep records: Maintain accurate administrative data within company systems.

Your Experience/ Requirements

Essential:

• Background: Proven mechanical background or engineering background preferred
• Numeracy: Strong mathematical skills and high attention to detail.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Organisation: Ability to manage multiple deadlines and quotes simultaneously.

Desirable:

• Systems insight: Familiarity with geared and gearless drive systems.
• Tech quoting: Experience running engineering calculations for quotes.
• Client facing: History of attending customer meetings or sales support.
