Junior Quantity Surveyor

Overview

Temp All Staffing are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, a leading specialist in Groundworks, Civil Engineering and RC Frame Construction. Their commercial team operates in a fast-paced environment with a diverse range of projects.

The Role

Commercial Management

  • Project Oversight: Lead the commercial delivery of projects, ensuring valuations are accurate, timely, and compliant with contracts.
  • Payment Cycle: Prepare applications for payment, monitor certificates, and resolve outstanding payment issues.
  • Change Control: Identify, document, and value all variations and dayworks.
  • Final Accounts: Negotiate and agree on final accounts to successful closure.
  • Contract Admin: Manage Early Warning Notices (EWNs), Extensions of Time (EOTs), and maintain associated tracker documents.
  • Financial Health: Conduct monthly reviews of cost reports and P&L statements; take proactive steps to safeguard project margins.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to contractual obligations and construction law.

Tendering & Cost Management

  • Forecasting: Price and negotiate material and resource costs.
  • Documentation: Produce high-quality tender documents, contracts, budgets, and Bills of Quantities.
  • Budgeting: Track design/construction changes and adjust financial projections accordingly.
  • Risk Management: Execute value management and cost control throughout the entire construction programme.
  • Strategy: Advise on procurement strategies and identify key project risks.
Your Experience/ Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within Groundworks, Civil Engineering, or RC Frames.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and payment legislation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
