Overview

Temp All Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a leading horticultural producer for a Growing Assistant specialising in soft fruit. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for plants and a keen eye for detail to join a professional production team. The role involves working closely with the Soft Fruit Growing Manager, your primary focus will be managing irrigation and plant nutrition. You will play a vital role in ensuring the crops receive the exact care needed to produce high-quality fruit for major retailers.

Job Role

• Irrigation & Feeding: Monitor field irrigation, mix nutrient recipes, and maintain daily records to ensure optimal plant health.
• Quality Control: Perform regular checks on moisture, pH, and runoff levels to maximise the yield of premium-grade fruit.
• Maintenance: Assist with the upkeep of irrigation systems and report any technical issues promptly to ensure the crop is never at risk.
• Teamwork: Work as part of a dedicated team, communicating clearly with managers and supporting colleagues to hit production targets.
• Safety & Standards: Follow all health and safety guidelines, wear correct PPE, and maintain high standards of data protection and company policy.

Your Experience/ Requirements

• Technical Interest: A basic understanding of irrigation systems or a strong desire to learn horticultural techniques.
• Practical Mindset: Comfortable working in a hands-on, outdoor, or polytunnel environment.
