Assembly Team Leader

Overview

Temp All Staffing are currently recruiting for a dependable and experienced Assembly Team Leader to join the Assembly Operative team on behalf of a leading manufacturing client just outside the Colchester area.

This is a hands-on Team Leader position where you will work as part of the Assembly Operative team while providing day-to-day guidance and support to 2–3 members of staff. You will help ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards, while also carrying out assembly and production duties yourself.

This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity offering a stable weekday schedule and the potential for a permanent position.

The Role

• Team Leadership: Providing day-to-day guidance, support and direction to a small team of 2–3 Assembly Operatives.
• Leading by Example: Working alongside the team and carrying out hands-on assembly and production duties.
• Precision Assembly: Building trolleys and trailers using hand tools and air-powered equipment.
• Production Support: Loading and unloading robot welding cells and supporting the wider production process.
• Work Allocation: Helping organise and prioritise tasks to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
• Quality Control: Ensuring work is completed to the required quality standards and carrying out inspections of finished products before dispatch.
• Health & Safety: Promoting safe working practices and ensuring team members follow company procedures.
• Manual Handling: Moving heavy items and materials safely, with full training provided.
• Problem Solving: Supporting the team with day-to-day production issues and escalating any concerns where necessary.

Your Experience/ Requirements

• Team Leadership Experience: Previous experience supervising, leading or supporting a small team within a manufacturing, assembly or production environment is preferred.
• Assembly / Manufacturing Experience: Previous manufacturing or assembly experience is required.
• Practical Skills: Comfortable working with your hands and using a range of hand tools and air-powered equipment.
• Leadership Skills: Able to communicate clearly, motivate others and lead by example.
• Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Fitness: Physically capable of manual work and standing for the duration of your shift.
• Transport: Must have your own transport due to the site’s location and limited public transport links.
• Forklift Experience: Previous forklift experience is advantageous but not required.
