Overview

Temp All Staffing is recruiting a qualified Social Worker / AMHP for a key temporary contract position within a Specialist Mental Health Team. Working in collaboration with NHS partners, you will work with service users and carers to maximise independence in line with self-directed care principles. The role requires handling professional duties across care management, safeguarding, mental capacity, deprivation of liberty, and robust risk management.

Monday 24th August 2026 to Friday 20th November 2026

The Role

• Complex Case Management: Manage a dedicated caseload of long-term, complex, and difficult cases alongside their carers.
• Care Act Eligibility: Undertake social need assessments for adult social care eligibility under the Care Act 2014.
• Self-Directed Support: Prepare, complete, and submit funding panels for both health and social care personal budgets.
• Safeguarding & Advocacy: Fulfil the role of investigating officer into allegations of abuse using national and local Safeguarding procedures.
• Risk Enablement: Identify, assess, and manage risks through a proactive “can do” approach to risk enablement.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Act as a lead specialist in mental health conditions, partnering seamlessly with NHS teams and voluntary sectors.
• Professional Records: Ensure all statutory care records and legal reports are thoroughly, accurately, and electronically maintained.
• Code Compliance: Work strictly to the code of practice set out by the regulatory body and internal competency frameworks.

Your Experience/ Requirements

• Social Work Qualification: Professional qualification in Social Work (or Occupational Therapy equivalent).
• Regulatory Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (formerly HCPC).
• AMHP Certification: Essential ASW / AMHP post-qualifying certification.
• CPD Record: Evidence of a fully maintained and up-to-date Continuous Professional Development log.
• Mental Health Practice: Substantial, hands-on experience working directly within adult mental health services.
• Multi-Disciplinary Working: Proven background working effectively with colleagues from healthcare and housing disciplines.
• Legislation: Expert knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, DoLS, and Safeguarding Adults procedures.
• Systems & Software: Proficiency in standard office software and electronic social care systems (e.g., Mosaic, Rio, or similar databases).
• Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills (communicating, listening, and responding).
• Language Fluency: Must fulfil all spoken aspects of this public-facing role with total confidence in English.

• Mobility: Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for community work.
• Vetting: Satisfactory Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks.
