Children’s Residential Senior Support Worker

Overview

Temp All Staffing is looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker for a day-based role at a private residential home in Thaxted. As a Senior, you will be a key figure in the home, leading a dedicated team to provide a safe, supportive environment for young people with complex needs, including learning disabilities.

Shifts

Must be able to work a mixture of the below with no restrictions, including alternative weekends

  • 7:30am – 10:00pm
  • 7:30am – 3:00pm
  • 14:30pm – 10:00pm
The Role
  • Team Leadership: Lead and run day shifts, providing direction to staff and ensuring smooth daily operations.
  • Ofsted Standards: Maintain high levels of care and documentation in line with Ofsted regulations.
  • Activity Planning: Organise and facilitate engaging social activities for the children outside of school hours.
  • Household Management: Support the daily running of the home, including shopping, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Direct Care: Administer medication and provide personal care where required.
Your Experience/ Requirements
  • Qualifications: Must hold a minimum of a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Proven Experience: Must have previous experience working as a Senior Support Worker within a Children’s Residential Home.
  • Driving: Must hold a Full UK driving licence (manual or automatic).
  • Expertise: Solid understanding of Ofsted regulations and managing challenging behaviours.
  • Reliability: A flexible and adaptable approach to meet the needs of the young people during the day.
