Head Chef

Overview

Temp All Staffing are currently recruiting a Head Chef on behalf of our client, a busy garden centre based in the outskirts of Colchester. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the kitchen with a team of 5 chefs and overseeing a busy service of between 200 – 400 covers daily.

Shifts
  • Hours are 7:30am – 4:30pm
  • Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday.
Job Role
  • Planning and designing menus with fresh produce, offering customers the best price whilst remaining in budget and hitting targets
  • Calculating costs and liaising with suppliers
  • Directing kitchen operations and managing kitchen staff
  • Overseeing the food preparations, cooking and cleaning
  • Ensuring compliance with hygiene, health and safety regulations
  • Liaising with other departments to ensure operations run smoothly
Your Skills and Experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience as a Head Chef preferred
  • Level 2 Food Safety or above
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Advance culinary knowledge and extensive cooking experience
  • Excellent sense of taste and refined palate
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment
